We just returned from a great time as a family...
First we spent a Saturday on Jubilee, Mike & Sarah McEvoy's beautiful boat, and cruised up to Sucia Island. It was such a gorgeous day and we had a great time with friends. We were Keely-free for the day which was such a blessing (thanks Nonnie, Grandpa Jon, & Shannon!). As much as we love hanging with the bug, it would not have been relaxing to chase her around a boat for the afternoon--she's a girl on the go!
On Sunday we headed down to Portland to visit with the Ericksons. It was great to see them and the latest addition to the clan, cute little Daisy. They have a beautiful new home and Keely loved watching/playing with Malia & Bright. On Monday Eric got to spend time with Chris at his work, Parliament, and I spent the morning with Stacy and the kids. What a supermom Stacy is! With a preschooler, toddler, and infant she has her hands full and does a wonderful job--playdates and crafts to boot! Keely & I then picked Eric up at Parliament and Keely got to stand down the bear rug! On our way back home we stopped by and visited with Aunt Teresa while Keely took a nap and then enjoyed a yummy dinner at McMenamins where Keely worked on her straw skills and had her first tater tot.
We got home late Monday and then left Tuesday for a trip across the mountains to find some sun. We took a beautiful drive on highway 20 to Black Beach Resort on Curlew Lake, near Republic. We took a pit stop at a wonderful park in Winthrop so we all could stretch our legs and Keely could play and explore a bit. Well, "resort" is a bit generous, but we did have a good time. We stayed in a 70's styled studio cabin with a great view of the lake and a little porch. We took lots of walks around the grounds, played in the grass, used the swingset, explored big tires, and waded in the lake.
Keely's "bedroom"--we'd set up the pack n' play in the bathroom for naps and early evening, and then move her out when we went to bed. She slept in a lot (which was so awesome!) and one morning we woke up to her just peeking over the pack n' play rail and staring at us--I guess just waiting for us to wake up! Too cute.
More to come...we headed farther east to Colville to see Grandpa Steve...
Any tricks to uploading photos to blogger? It seems to take *forever*!!
