What a beautiful girl! Well, after three and a half days at the hospital, we arrived home this afternoon. Thursday went great! We arrived to the hospital a bit before 6am and Em got all prepped for her 730 surgery. I got to join her in the operating room soon after she was numbed up and ready to go. It sure didn't take long before our little baby girl announced her arrival with a solid yell. After a quick cleaning and swaddling, she was handed off to me so that we could bond with her as they stitched Em back up. What a great time!, our first chance to be with precious Keely outside the womb. She calmed down right away and was pretty mellow as they took all her measurements and made sure she was healthy. We got to go with Keely back to our room where we got more time together, she got to breastfeed, and we got to take a mini breath before the onslaught of Keely's new family and friends began to arrive. The next couple days were filled with a mix of guests, sleeps, eats, poops, cries, burps, farts, and cuddles. Keely has been fairly sleepy and relaxed during the daytime and a little more active and boisterous at night. Great for visitors, rough for mom and dad... although last night she was great and we each were able to get some decent rest. All the docs and nurses have said that she is so beautiful and healthy and we couldn't be more joyous!
