So on my google homepage I have the dictionary.com "word of the day", as I love to expand my vocabulary...I often know the words or can guess fairly close based on derivation or root (a la nerdy spellbound kids) so I was kind of surprised by today's word...I was not even close:
afflatus \uh-FLAY-tuhs\, noun
A divine imparting of knowledge; inspiration.
It was just way too close to a more familiar term:
flatus /ˈfleɪtəs/ [fley-tuhs] –noun, plural -tus·es.
intestinal gas produced by bacterial action on waste matter in the intestines and composed primarily of hydrogen sulfide and varying amounts of methane.
Anyone with me? Is it just a nurse thing? Come on!

Hey Emily! Thanks for the meal planning tips! I checked out the Six O'Clock Scramble and it looks like something I'd love. I might have to do the 30-day trial. And what a great gift idea from your friend! I love creative gifts like that.
Maybe the words *are* related. Maybe that's how God does it. You know, divine knowledge farts...
