For those of you that don't know, we used

to have a cat named Max. He was a great cat who left us this winter for the grander adventures that lay in the wilderness. One of the most characteristic things about Max is that he was quite the hunter. He loved being outside and chasing after smaller animals, and he seemed to be pretty good at it. There would be periods of time where he would bring home something every day, sometimes a couple of animals a day. He had quite a wide variety of prey as well, over the years he brought home... mice, voles, rabbits, squirrels, birds, bats, a snake, and a fish. Most of the time he would bring the animal inside the house and then proceed to play with it in his turf.

Every once in a while he would involve our other cat, Kona, in the fun, although she never really got it. She was never able to corral a mouse once it got away from her and Max would always have to come back and save the day.
So imagine our surprise yesterday when Kona showed up to the back door with this cute little guy. Apparently she is trying to take over where Max left off. While the cat's away, the cat will play...
